Acronis Disk Director For Mac Os X

Hi everyone, I have Acronis True Image (ATI) 2016 that is installed on Mac OS X Mojave. When I run ATI 2016 using a non admin account I get a dialog box to enter admin`s username and password. That is a very easy and convenient way to provide necessary privileges to the application. I decided to try ATI 2019 recently, so when I ran it I got a message that I have to log on as an administrator. Acronis Backup is the most advanced backup solution for local and remote Mac users. With enhanced backup validation and blockchain-based authentication of your backups with Acronis Notary, Acronis Backup is the most reliable backup solution for your Macs on the market today. Acronis Disk Director Suite by Acronis provides you with a collection of tools that can help you optimize and manage your disk usage. Unfortunately, a version of Acronis Disk Director Suite for Mac has not been developed yet, so you might want to search for other disk.

I have a problem using Acronis True Image on Mac OS X 10.15. When Acronis is started it automatically gives a pop-up that Mac OS 10.15 is not fully supported. Some functions may not work properly. Please update when new version is available.

Does anybody have the samen experience? Is there a workaround or newer version?

Current Acronis True Image 2019 version is: 23.5.17780.

Kind regards,

Jeroen Gerretschen

Jeroen, welcome to these public User Forums.

The ATI 2019 User Guide for Mac has the following clear statement:

Supported operating systems:

  • macOS Mojave 10.14
  • macOS High Sierra 10.13
  • macOS Sierra 10.12
  • OS X El Capitan 10.11

ATI 2019 is now out of support so will not be receiving any further updates in order to work fully with later versions of macOS such as 10.15, so you would need to upgrade to ATI 2020 which does support 10.15 fully.

ATI 2020 User Guide for Mac states:

Acronis Disk Director 12.5

Supported operating systems:

Acronis Disk Director Iso

  • macOS Catalina 10.15
  • macOS Mojave 10.14
  • macOS High Sierra 10.13
  • macOS Sierra 10.12
  • OS X El Capitan 10.11

I too am having a problem getting Acronis to backup my Mac after the macOS was updated yesterday to macOS 10.15.4 Catalina.

When the macOS update was completed there was a message stating that the Acronis software needs to be updated.

Does anyone know if Acronis is working on an update for the Mac version?

I was having an issue with 10.15.3 where it was saying network timed out when I backed up a folder (whole machine seems ok) to acronis cloud. Since I have updated to 10.15.4 I get the same error. I have logged a ticket earlier but no reply yet.

** sorry, wrong thread **

Hello Gail,

could you clarify the build version of Acronis True Image installed on your Mac? Please make sure, you are on the latest build 22510. If yes and the issue persists, would you send us the logs from the affected Mac via the Feedback option? Please let me know if you've sent it, so that I can pass the report to the RnD right away.

Ekaterina,

I checked and the Acronis build I am using is the Acronis True Image 2020 build 24.5.22510.

I have sent a copy of the error log file using the Feedback option. I have also attached the log file to this message. Please keep me updated on the progress being made to fix this problem. I am not the only person having this problem and numerous log files have been sent to Acronis on this subject.

Gail, thank you!

We've published an article with the workaround Acronis True Image 2020 (Mac): Backup fails with 'Failed to enumerate directory 'Macintosh HD — Data:/private/var/db/lockdown/' after update to macOS 10.15.4

Introduction

Using Acronis True Image 2019 and later you can duplicate all your data and make macOS bootable on your new hard drive via Disk Cloning. You can use this to migrate to a new Mac computer or to clone the system to an external HDD and have a bootable copy of the system.

Keep in mind the following limitations:

  • Only an entire disk can be cloned, not selected partitions.
  • Only entire disk can be selected as a destination.
  • Fusion Drives are supported as a cloning source and/or destination starting from Acronis True Image 2019 Update 2 (Build 14610)

For more information about Disk Cloning Utility see product documentation.

Solution

To clone your Mac disk follow the steps below:

  1. If you have Parallels Desktop virtual machines running on your Mac, make sure that they are turned off.
  2. Make sure that the source and destination drives are connected to your Mac. If you need to connect another Mac, make sure that it is connected in target disk mode. Refer to product documentation for details.
  3. Open Acronis True Image. On the sidebar, click Disk Cloning
  4. By default, your internal system drive is pre-selected as a cloning source. If you want to change it, click the cloning source icon, and then select the drive that you want to clone.
When you start the cloning operation, the destination drive will be formatted, and all of the data stored on it will be irreversibly erased. Make sure that the disk is empty or does not contain valuable data.
  5. Click Clone to start the cloning operation.
  6. If the destination disk contains data, Acronis True Image will ask for user confirmation to format the target disk. Click Format to proceed
